Whereas you step into the shoes of unlikely heroes who must battle through hordes of Supernatural enemies in a fight not just for survival but to save the world from a supernatural apocalypse. Originally developed by DATA EAST in 1993, Night Slashers remains a standout title in the beat ’em up genre. The gameplay takes you through seven unique stages each broken into multiple sections. You’ll fight your way from left to right across each stage, battling wave after wave of enemies to advance. Don’t even think about moving forward until you’ve cleared the screen of all the terrifying foes. At the end of each level, you’re met with an intense boss fight that will test all your skills. Only by defeating these bosses will you be able to progress further.
This Remake of Night Slashers stays true to its classic Roots while adding new Characteristics to enhance the experience. You can choose from four unique characters, including three from the original game and a new addition in the remake. And you don’t have to fight alone—local multiplayer lets you team up with up to four players, each with their own moveset, to take on the relentless hordes.
The combat in Night Slashers is fast and varied, with each character able to pull off combos, jump attacks, grappling moves, and running strikes. If things get too intense, you can even unleash devastating special moves, though they come at the cost of your own health. And when you’re really backed into a corner, there’s always the option to unleash a screen-clearing attack that wipes out all nearby enemies, though you’ll pay the price with a big chunk of your health.
The enemies are just as diverse as the heroes with zombies mutants werewolves and other monstrous creatures standing in your way. You will face iconic horror bosses like Dracula mummies golems and Frankenstein is monster all of whom add to the dark horror infused atmosphere. With its grim setting creepy music and cartoon style gore Night Slashers Remake is perfect for fans of classic horror games and movies.
On top of the original content the remake introduces custom modes allowing you to set your own rules for gameplay. Want time limits or exploding corpses? It’s all here, but the real question is whether you’re brave (or crazy) enough to give it a try.
