You don’t have to stress about laying roads, either. The game uses a Unique action designed with the help of an urban planner to create the most realistic city layouts you have ever seen in a video game. Whenever your decisions about city quarters factions and how you handle Transitions between ages will shape the future of your town.
Your citizens will have various needs and expectations so you will need to build things like farms logging camps and quarries to keep them well-provided for. As your city grows you will also need to use your creativity and strategy to manage administrative and political centers to keep your population engaged. For example, once you build a Senatus, you can propose and fund decrees that will temporarily influence your city’s development.
Throughout the game you will face historical challenges like the Black Death as well as internal crises like riots and strikes that could threaten your progress. However you can also build iconic wonders such as the Great Library of Alexandria, Windsor Castle and the Palace of Versailles to showcase your city’s wealth and power. The culture you choose will greatly impact your city’s development offering endless Possibilities for replaying the game and deciding whether to become a craftsman, politician, philosopher, or something entirely different.
