The Earth is in shambles once again and it is up to us to do something about it .We are facing a whole new wave of massive enemies that are out to destroy our square planet. Think giant ants, spiders, bees, scorpions, UFOs, robots, monsters, and even colossal aliens—and it doesn’t stop there. There are also gigantic EDF soldiers causing havoc. You’ll need to assemble your own EDF unit to fight back. Scattered across the world, teammates are waiting for rescue. You can pick four of them, customize your team, choose your weapons, and head into battle. With over 100 characters to collect, you can build a squad that perfectly suits your playstyle.
The game brings back soldiers from the mainline EDF series along with characters from various EDF spin offs. You’ll spot some familiar faces, including those from the latest mainline game, Earth Defense Force 6. With over 600 weapons and accessories to choose from you will have plenty of gear to experiment with.
Enemies from past EDF games are also making a return. You’ll get to fight revamped voxel versions of your old foes, alongside fresh, new enemies that are exclusive to this game. With more than 100 missions and five difficulty levels you are in for a serious challenge.
Online co-op play is fully supported, so you and up to three friends can join forces to save the planet together.
As for the story: after defeating Dark Tyrant, we thought peace was finally here. But now, Earth is shattered once again, this time by the underground menace known as Gaiarch. As the legendary Commander who once saved the world, it’s your job to lead the EDF back into action. The EDF never backs down from a fight, whether the Earth is round or square—so gear up, and let’s do this!
