Overview Isle of Swaps
The global craze of Critters has everyone hooked, and now the latest obsession is the Critter Trading Card Game. Dina, who’s been absolutely mad about Critters, has been begging her parents non-stop for a week to get her some cards. Finally they caved and got her a starter deck and a cool binder to store them in. But Dina isn’t satisfied—she wants all the Critter Cards. As lunch break rolls around, kids flood outside to dive into more Critter Challenges. ZERO PROTOCOL
In Critter Combat, you start by using weaker Skill cards to build up energy, which you can then spend on playing more powerful cards. With each Critter having its own stats, abilities, weaknesses, and resistances, creating a balanced team is key. You don’t want your entire lineup to be weak against Blaze attacks, right? However, Skill cards can only be used by Critters of the same element, so sticking to one type might seem like a good strategy. But if your Aqua Critter goes down, you won’t be able to use your Aqua Skill Cards, so you’ll need to think ahead.
As you win battles, you can swap cards with the opponents you defeat. Got duplicates No problem you can swap as many times as you want with no limits. Every card you collect gets stored in your binder, and you can tweak your battle deck whenever you feel like it. Stickers give passive bonuses, but using rare Critters limits how many Stickers you can equip. Finding the right balance between Critters, Skills, and Stickers is the key to victory.
Challenges are played by picking from one of three map cards, but if you’re feeling bold, unflipped cards can reward you with money to buy Booster Packs. Winning a challenge permanently adds the cards in your battle deck to your Master Binder, allowing you to customize your starting Critter in future runs. You can even build Master Decks to take on the Critter Championship where your Deckbuilding skills will be put to the ultimate test. And with six different areas appearing in random order, every Challenge run feels fresh and unpredictable.
Inspired by one developer’s memories of the Pokémon trading card game taking over school playgrounds, Critters is all about the joy of collecting, trading, and battling. Whether you are strategizing with hundreds of beautifully illustrated cards or swapping doubles to build the perfect deck this game brings that playground nostalgia back to life.
