Overview Cataclismo
In Cataclismo, you’re leading the last survivors of humanity after a devastating catastrophe, trying to fend off a corrupted world determined to wipe you out. Your mission is to build Fortresses piece by piece using wood and stone to create Towering defenses that stand against Relentless waves of Horrors. You’ll also be commanding a variety of powerful units, moving quickly from breach to breach, coordinating their skills to hold the line. As the days pass, you’ll venture into the unknown to gather resources vital for expanding your defenses and growing your military strength, facing siege after siege, night after night. Far from the relative safety of the Last City, your outposts serve as the first line of defense. You’ll be building intricate fortresses across multiple landscapes, taking full control over the design with a highly modular system. Each biome presents different challenges but you will need to strategize using natural chokepoints local resources and height advantages to craft the most effective defenses. You can even share and use Plans with the community to push your creative boundaries. Whether using quick and cheap wood or durable stone, your decisions will directly affect your chances of survival. Structural integrity matters and you can even turn falling structures into a deadly trap for enemies.
During the day, you’ll explore, expand, and gather resources, but as night falls, you must be ready for the full force of the Horrors. Position your soldiers—archers, cannoneers, and more—into tactical formations to hold back the hordes. You will need to use devastating traps fire arrows poison and clever troop placement to make the most of your defenses. As your soldiers upgrade they gain new abilities making them more efficient in battle. Your fortress must be well-designed to allow for tiered defenses, and every building, even citizens’ homes, might become a final barrier if the walls are breached.
Cataclismo offers a rich single-player campaign, skirmish mode with hand-crafted maps, and a challenge mode featuring procedurally generated maps where you fight off waves of increasingly dangerous Horrors. You’ll also have access to a map editor to design and share your own maps, as well as an intricate building system where architects can create and share blueprints. Despite the world being ravaged, hope isn’t gone. It’s up to you to guide humanity out of the darkness, build fortresses that stand the test of time, and command your troops against the endless onslaught of Horrors.
